Located in the heart of Ludza - the oldest town in Latvia - the Ludza Crafts Centre is creating the artisanal brewery “Žbans”.

 

From the very beginning of the summer tourism season, visitors will be invited to experience several varieties of beer in an authentic historic Latgalian atmosphere. Inspired by the traditional farmhouse beer once brewed in nearly every Latgalian homestead, the beer is crafted from Latvian malt, combining modern brewing techniques with ancient local traditions.

 

The “Žbans” Brewery will offer beer tastings paired with traditional dishes and Latgalian culinary heritage cuisine from the Latgalian Cuisine kitchen, accompanied by stories about local brewing traditions. Guests will also be able to enjoy guided tours exploring the history of Latgalian craftsmanship and ancient trades in the Suprātku Hall.
