Ludza craftsmen warmly welcome everyone interested in traditional crafts, folk costumes, history, and cultural traditions.
The Ludza Crafts Centre in Latgale was established with the aim of preserving the ancient craft skills and artisanal traditions of the Latgalians, strengthening their value in modern society, and offering both local residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the Latgalian way of life through the work of craftsmen and artists while fostering Latvian cultural identity.
Located in the heart of Ludza Old Town, in the former flax warehouse building at 27a Tālavijas Street, skilled artisans create traditional folk costumes and handcrafted works from wood, clay, and metal. They study and reconstruct ancient craft techniques and objects while teaching and sharing valuable traditional skills with everyone interested.
We warmly welcome all visitors to the Ludza Crafts Centre who are interested in history, traditional craftsmanship, and folk traditions.
